I run an e-commerce business, but my path to entrepreneurship wasn't a typical success story. Unlike those who started companies in their teens, I began my journey in the corporate world. With a background in Economics, I built my career in marketing, eventually leading teams across tech, fitness and retail industries before venturing out on my own.
When the pandemic hit in 2020, I took my first step into entrepreneurship. The transition from corporate life to running my own business was challenging - it taught me things no MBA programme could cover. Whilst school never prepared us for managing the countless responsibilities and risks of running a business, especially with limited resources, I discovered that persistence is the key. Each challenge became like unwrapping a gift, revealing new skills that helped me grow and advance.
We're living in unprecedented times. Rapid technological advancement, economic uncertainties and demographic shifts are reshaping traditional career paths. It's becoming increasingly difficult to rely on conventional employment until retirement, let alone build enough wealth for a comfortable future and healthcare needs. Whilst starting a business might seem like the answer, many hesitate to leave their comfort zones due to the risks involved. But here's the truth: the best time to start is when you're still financially secure and can afford to fail, not when you're forced to succeed.
This blog serves two purposes: it's both my entrepreneurial journal and a resource for others contemplating starting their own businesses. I'll share practical insights, both successes and failures, along with the systems I've developed and valuable resources I've discovered. Beyond business, I'll write about my daily life and various interests, including books, science, tech gadgets and photography.
